Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between El Condor Ruiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deon Reddings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruiz comes to the cage accompanied by http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LrHfxW4XOg. Reddings has chosen Hurt as his entrance music. Deon Reddings struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 136.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, El Condor Ruiz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Deon Reddings! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruiz shoots in and bounces Reddings off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Reddings looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Ruiz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ruiz is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Ruiz scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Ruiz drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Reddings manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ruiz has Reddings in his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reddings wants to stand but Ruiz is controlling his posture from full guard. Ruiz is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Ruiz has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Reddings off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Ruiz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Reddings circles away. Reddings throws a right hand that Ruiz ducks under and follows up with a left that Ruiz also avoids with ease. Ruiz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ruiz cracks Reddings with a big right hand but Reddings just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruiz scores with punches from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reddings gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Reddings wants to get back to his feet.
Ruiz looking for a guillotine from mount but Reddings is having none of it. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ruiz has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Reddings's face.
Ruiz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Reddings tries to reverse the position but Ruiz maintains control. Ruiz has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Reddings's face.
Ruiz controlling his opponent. Ruiz is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Reddings has managed to escape the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
El Condor Ruiz dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Reddings misses with a takedown and Ruiz counters by clinching up. Reddings is pressed up against the cage. Ruiz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Reddings down to the mat. Reddings avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Ruiz tries to clinch up but Reddings circles away and keeps his distance. Ruiz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Reddings is trying to stand back up but Ruiz is controlling him
Reddings has hold of Ruiz's hands but Ruiz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Ruiz passes to full mount! Ruiz looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Ruiz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Reddings is looking to escape. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reddings is looking to improve his position but Ruiz isn't that keen on the idea. Ruiz controlling from mount. Ruiz scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Reddings?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ruiz with shots to the head and body - Reddings looks very uncomfortable down there. Ruiz stands up from mount. Strange move. Ruiz scores with a punch to the head. Ruiz gets a takedown into half guard. Ruiz with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruiz scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Ruiz is working for a kimura but Reddings is defending it quite comfortably.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ruiz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Ruiz tries to pass the half guard into mount. Reddings knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Ruiz trying to control from half guard but Reddings is working away. Ruiz works his way into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
El Condor Ruiz dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Ruiz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ruiz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Ruiz controlling the position easily from mount. Both fighters are breathing heavily. A nice elbow there by Ruiz.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruiz breaks from Reddings's wrist control and lands an elbow. Ruiz controlling his opponent. Reddings really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ruiz is going olschool here, as he tries to force Reddings to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Reddings shrugs it off. Ruiz has hold of Reddings's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Reddings manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
El Condor Ruiz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Reddings bucks up and throws Ruiz to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape! Ruiz with a lazy takedown attempt and Reddings decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ruiz's guard. Reddings trying to control the position from guard on top but Ruiz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruiz looking for a sweep. Not yet Ruiz, not yet. Reddings postures up in Ruiz's guard and throws a big left but Ruiz blocks it. Ruiz is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Reddings being controlled here momentarily. Reddings wants to get up but he can't break Ruiz's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Reddings has gone for a leg lock! Ruiz slips out almost immediately though and dives into Reddings's guard. Reddings keeping moving, preventing Ruiz from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reddings keeping full guard, as Ruiz tries to pass. Reddings looking for a sweep. Not yet Reddings, not yet. Ruiz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Deon Reddings has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ruiz drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Reddings dives on top into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to El Condor Ruiz. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ruiz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
