Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between JJ Staples (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daunte Mauricio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mauricio Silva is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Getting Away with Murder-Papa Roach. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daunte Mauricio Silva!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mauricio Silva throws a nice looking combination but Staples bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mauricio Silva feints and as Staples raises his hands in defense, Mauricio Silva changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Staples wants to sweep but no luck.
Staples trying to strike off his back.
Staples is trying to control the position but Mauricio Silva postures up.
Mauricio Silva drops back looking for a leg! Staples is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Staples manages to kick Mauricio Silva off! Mauricio Silva jumps back into Staples's guard.
Staples throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Staples working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mauricio Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mauricio Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mauricio Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Staples manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mauricio Silva has Staples in his guard.
Mauricio Silva bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Staples's guard.
Mauricio Silva passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Mauricio Silva tries to advance to mount but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mauricio Silva is working to tighten is grip on Staples's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Staples has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Mauricio Silva is really squeezing tight and eventually Staples passes out! Mauricio Silva breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
