Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barry Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mickey O Neil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Barry Allen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mickey O Neil! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Neil moves into the clinch successfully.
Allen misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from O Neil.
Knees to the body from Allen.
O Neil can't break the clinch.
O Neil on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Allen lands an elbow inside that O Neil shrugs off. Allen misses with an elbow over the top. O Neil wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Allen has him pressed against the cage. With the fighters up against the cage, Allen throws an elbow but misses. Allen crunches a lovely knee into O Neil's ribcage. Allen jumps into guard, dragging O Neil to the mat.
Allen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst O Neil is controlling him. O Neil with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Allen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. O Neil must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Allen wants to stand but O Neil is controlling the position. O Neil trying to control the position from guard on top but Allen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. O Neil circles away from the clinch attempt.
Allen is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Allen closes the distance but O Neil moves to the side and O Neil counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by O Neil. Allen with a knee to the head.
Allen throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but O Neil blocks it with crossed arms. Allen jumps into guard, dragging O Neil to the mat.
Allen being controlled here, momentarily. O Neil stands up and waves to Allen to follow him. Allen moves in looking to clinch but O Neil pushes him off.

Allen clinches but O Neil breaks the clinch and O Neil counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Barry Allen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Allen with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Allen tries to clinch but O Neil moves away letting O Neil counter with a right hand. O Neil throws a front kick aimed at Allen's knee but Allen avoids it well. No joy there for O Neil, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

O Neil should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Allen tries to clinch up but O Neil circles away and keeps his distance. Allen closes the distance and clinches up with O Neil, looking for a takedown. Allen pushes O Neil against the cage but O Neil circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Allen doesn't manage to clinch there - O Neil circles away.
Allen moves out of range as O Neil strikes. Allen tries to grapple but his opponent circles and O Neil counters with a lovely shot to the body. O Neil gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. A head punch blocked on the inside by O Neil. Allen keeps control of O Neil as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Allen with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
O Neil tries to break the clinch but Allen is controlling the position. Allen lands a knee to the body.
O Neil is working for takedown but Allen is calmly controlling the position for now. Allen lands an uppercut. O Neil drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Allen gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Barry Allen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mickey O Neil. O Neil wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. A short right from O Neil. Allen lands an elbow that stopped O Neil in his tracks for a moment. O Neil goes for a takedown attempt but Allen pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

It looks like Barry Allen has been cut. O Neil goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Allen tries to clinch up but O Neil circles away and keeps his distance. Allen has a takedown stuffed.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Allen tries to clinch there but O Neil circles away.
Allen looks to clinch and O Neil counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by O Neil. O Neil is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. O Neil gets to his feet - Allen follows without any prompting. Allen tries to clinch but O Neil is having none of it. O Neil circles away from the clinch attempt.
Allen tries to grapple but his opponent circles and O Neil counters with a lovely straight right hand! O Neil looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Allen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says O Neil as he avoids it easily. Allen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Allen wants to clinch but O Neil slips to the side and O Neil counters with a nice body shot. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. O Neil misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Allen moves out of range of the strikes. O Neil ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Allen moves away. Allen darts in trying to clinch and O Neil counters with a three punch combo that has Allen backing up. Allen nods at O Neil to acknowledge the strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mickey O Neil dominated that round. The cut man is working on Barry Allen's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Allen tries to clinch but O Neil moves away and O Neil counters with a nice double leg into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Allen keeping full guard, as O Neil tries to pass. O Neil throws a strike but Allen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Allen trying to stand up but can't free himself from O Neil's guard. O Neil is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Allen pushes down on O Neil's leg and manages to get into half guard. O Neil punching from the bottom.
O Neil is breathing heavily. O Neil pushes Allen off looking to stand but Allen dives back in and keeps control.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Allen decides to return to a standing position. O Neil will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Allen pushes O Neil away with a front kick. O Neil throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

O Neil does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. O Neil throws a chopping leg kick but Allen manages to avoid taking any serious damage. O Neil misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Allen.
Allen tries to clinch up but O Neil circles away and keeps his distance. O Neil closes this distance looking for a takedown but Allen circles away. O Neil gets a clinch. O Neil can't break the clinch.

Allen can't fight it off and eventually O Neil manages to take the fight to the floor. Allen looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Allen wants to clinch and O Neil counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Allen's guard now. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Allen is on top in guard.
Allen wants to stand but O Neil is controlling his posture from full guard. Allen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as O Neil works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

At least for now. Allen trying to control but O Neil is working from the bottom. O Neil is trying to control the position but Allen postures up. Mickey O Neil has got the better of the ground game so far. O Neil uses the cage to get back to his feet.
