Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Strides (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Bailey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bailey has chosen The Plimsouls - Oldest Story In The World as his entrance music. Randy Bailey has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ethan Strides! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randy Bailey! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Strides lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Bailey tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Strides paws at him with a jab and circles away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Bailey. Strides scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Bailey moves into the clinch. Strides using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Bailey gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bailey stops Strides from getting back to his feet.
Bailey tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Strides. Strides tries to roll over but Bailey keeps him under control. Bailey throwing shots but Strides is blocking nicely. Bailey trying to work for an americana but Strides has managed to regain full guard.
Strides is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bailey throws a big right hand that misses. Strides lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bailey! Strides tries to control but Bailey wriggling away. Strides controlling from the full mount. Bailey manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Bailey wants to control but Strides is keeping busy and won't allow it. Bailey is controlling Strides's position as best he can from this difficult position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bailey wants to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Strides throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bailey misses with some strikes from the bottom.

The fighters are battling for position here. Bailey manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Strides trying to control but Bailey is working from the bottom. Bailey is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Strides slaps away a takedown attempt from Bailey, before circling back to the center of the mat. Strides keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Strides throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Randy Bailey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bailey closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Strides to the mat! Strides manages to get full guard. Strides wants to sweep here but Bailey controlling him for the moment. Bailey trying to control but Strides is working from the bottom. Bailey throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Strides works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bailey trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bailey trying to control the position from guard on top but Strides is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bailey is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Strides can't fight it off and eventually Bailey manages to take the fight to the floor. Strides looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Bailey would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Bailey has gone for a leg lock! Strides slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bailey's guard. Strides advances to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Strides seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Strides wants to take a breather but Bailey is having none of it. Bailey trying to hold on to Strides's head to control him but Strides postures up.
Strides is keen to just control but Bailey is a slippery customer. Bailey wants to control but Strides is keeping busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Strides gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Bailey shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bailey showed some decent athleticism there. Bailey is working for a kimura but Strides is defending it quite comfortably.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bailey tries to pass the half guard into mount. Strides knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Strides is staying active underneath Bailey, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Bailey seems to be working for a kimura but Strides defends the submission attempt. Strides keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Bailey trying to pass the guard but Strides defending well. Bailey is trying to work for a kimura but Strides is defending well.

Bailey takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Strides is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Strides landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Bailey takes an elbow to the temple. A nice glancing elbow lands by Strides. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Strides just misses with a elbow thrown towards Bailey's brow. Bailey tries to pull guard but Strides won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Strides tries to land knees in the clinch but Bailey avoids the damage to the body. Strides lands a body shot. Bailey can't get the takedown.
Strides lands an elbow that stopped Bailey in his tracks for a moment. Bailey has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Strides clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Bailey is persistently looking for the submission but Strides is defending it well.
Bailey is trying to stick to Strides's back but Strides is turning into Bailey. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Bailey's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Strides. Bailey controls Strides momentarily but Strides frees himself. Strides slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Strides wants to control from the top but Bailey keeps moving. Strides sitting in guard here, content to control. Bailey throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bailey is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Strides is aware though and is defending well. Strides wants to control from the top but Bailey keeps moving. Bailey is looking for a triangle but Strides pushes his legs off easily.

Strides decides to stand back up. Strides steps back and let's Bailey get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bailey shoots in for a double leg but Strides sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bailey. Strides is looking to clinch. Strides swinging wilding here.
Strides closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Bailey has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Strides is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. A short left from Strides. Bailey tries to score a body lock takedown but Strides shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Strides lands a knee to the head.
Bailey is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Strides pulls him back up using the underhooks. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Strides obliges.
And that's the end of the fight! Ethan Strides showed his dominance in that final round. I think Strides has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
