Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pad Thai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Micheal Bates!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thai throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Thai misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Thai tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bates fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thai avoids it really well and circles away.
A head kick from Thai lands but Bates takes it in his stride.


It looks like Micheal Bates has been cut.
Bates throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bates darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Thai might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

I looks like Bates might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Pad Thai is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Thai throws a front kick aimed at Bates's knee but Bates avoids it well.
Thai could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Bates looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Thai. Bates shrugs it off though.

Thai on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Thai tries to get out of the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bates trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Thai doesn't escape.
Thai tries to roll but Bates sticks to his back.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bates controlling the position well here. Thai rolled but Bates kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Pad Thai will probably get the nod.

Bates takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

You can see the frustration on Thai's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Thai controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Thai tries to escape but Bates has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Bates is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Thai is trying to stand back up.

What can Thai do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Micheal Bates comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Bates has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
