The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russia fails with a takedown attempt.

Russia shoots in for a double leg but Mies sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mies connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mies throws a series of punches but Russia moves out of range.
Mies with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Russia takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Mies lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Russia is looking to close the distance but Mies sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Russia crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Russia is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
