PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Rogano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnett's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Dear Agony. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Rogano!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett throws a nice looking combination but Rogano bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rogano shoots in but no luck this time.

and Rogano counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rogano.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Rogano counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Barnett's guard now.
Barnett can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rogano controls the pace.

Rogano seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Barnett might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Let's hope that Rogano has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Barnett escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rogano gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rogano sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Barnett's guard.

Rogano is staying tight to Barnett's torso, preventing him from escaping.
