Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jake Chambers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hitoshi Masaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Chambers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Hitoshi Masaru!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masaru throws a body punch but Chambers moves out of range.

Masaru shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Chambers is trying to defend but Masaru finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Masaru is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Masaru is pressing down on Chambers's thigh, looking to free his foot. Chambers is holding on for now.
Chambers keeping control of the position.

Masaru throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Chambers avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Masaru.

Masaru is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Chambers sees it coming and defends easily.
Chambers wants to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Chambers tries for a takedown but Masaru circles away easily

and Masaru counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Chambers's guard now.
Masaru wants to pass the guard but Chambers is keeping the position.
Masaruis looking to pass into half guard but Chambers pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Chambers is in guard.

Masaru is trying to control the position but Chambers postures up.
Chambers scoring with some ground and pound.
Chambers works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Chambers looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Masaru with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Chambers slips a nice elbow through Masaru's hands, connecting with Masaru's forehead.

Chambers is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Masaru has managed to free his arm - good work.

Masaru gets back to full guard.

Masaru has momentary wrist control but Chambers slips an elbow through the middle.
Masaru controls Chambers momentarily but Chambers frees himself.
Chambers trying to control the position from guard on top but Masaru is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Chambers postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Chambers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Masaru swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Chambers thows a big elbow that misses.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Masaru is trying to control the position but Chambers postures up.
Masaru manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chambers manages to get himself to full guard.
Masaru missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Masaru passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Chambers is trying to control Masaru's posture but Masaru avoids it.

Masaru looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hitoshi Masaru dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Masaru shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Chambers counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Masaru controls Chambers momentarily but Chambers frees himself.
Chambers is looking to work some ground and pound but Masaru has wrist control.
Masaru looking to control.
Chambers throws a strike but Masaru rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Masaru advances position into side control!
Masaru is breathing heavily.

Masaru thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Masaru throwing strikes but Chambers manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Masaru is trying to escape the position but Chambers is controlling the position.
Masaru tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Chambers wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Chambers goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Masaru rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Chambers's guard! Nice work there by Masaru!

Masaru drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Chambers dives on top into guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Chambers's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chambers working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Chambers tries to stand but Masaru is controlling from the bottom.
Masaru looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Chambers puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chambers connects with a nice short shot to Masaru's temple.
Masaru is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Chambers's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Chambers's back!
Chambers needs to remain patient if he's going to get out of this sticky situation.
Chambers is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Masaru gets his hands free as Chambers looks to control.
You can see the frustration on Chambers's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Masaru lands punches and elbows.
Chambers trying to control the hands but Masaru breaks the grip.

Masaru working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Masaru has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Chambers staying busy and making it hard for Masaru to control.

Masaru is persistently looking for the submission but Chambers is defending it well.
Chambers turns into Masaru and is now in his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Masaru keeping moving, preventing Chambers from controlling successfully.

Masaru escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chambers gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Chambers has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Masaru is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Chambers defends well.
Chambers in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Chambers trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Chambers feints and as Masaru raises his hands in defense, Chambers changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jake Chambers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Chambers on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Chambers tries to get out of the position.

Chambers wriggles free and stands up.
Masaru swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Masaru doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Chambers counters with a shoot takedown. Masaru fights it but they end up in guard.

Chambers is looking to work some ground and pound but Masaru has wrist control.
Masaru seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Chambers throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Masaru works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Chambers lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Masaru is trying to control the position but Chambers postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Chambers wants to clinch

and Masaru counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Masaru is trying to control the action in half guard but Chambers is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Chambers is concentrating on defense, preventing Masaru from advancing position.

Masaru wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chambers keeps working.
Masaru slips a nice elbow through Chambers's hands, connecting with Chambers's forehead.
Chambers wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Chambers misses the shot to the body.

Chambers shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Chambers was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Masaru wants to hold on but Chambers pushes him away.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Hitoshi Masaru.
Well Masaru has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
