The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Virtanen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Virtanen working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
A lull in the action here as Virtanen stalls from top position.
Virtanen wants to stand but Francois has his arm trapped.
Virtanen works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Francois can't do much from the bottom here.
Virtanen stands up and beckons Francois to his feet.
Virtanen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Virtanen moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Virtanen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Francois keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round.

Francois is not content to let Virtanen control the position.
Francois manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Francois tries to roll over but Virtanen keeps him under control.
Francois works his way to full guard. Good work.
Francois is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Francois has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Virtanen should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Francois has tightened it up now! Virtanen should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
