Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Junior Gracie! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Albert Anderson! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Anderson throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Gracie is going olschool here, as he tries to force Anderson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Anderson shrugs it off. Anderson is trying to stand. Anderson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Anderson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Anderson is trying to escape the mount.
Gracie moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Anderson has worked his arm free - good work by Anderson!

That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie wants to clinch up but Anderson keeps it at a distance. Gracie drives through with a takedown into guard. Gracie stands up from guard. Let's bang! Gracie shoots for a double leg takedown but Anderson sprawls well. He's pushed Gracie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Anderson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Anderson is wriggling around trying to escape.

Anderson is pushing Gracie's head away, looking to escape. Gracie manages to hold on to the position though. That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie leaves Anderson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Gracie is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Anderson's half guard. Gracie content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Gracie wants to stand but Anderson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Gracie looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Gracie seems to be looking for submissions.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gracie misses with a looping left. Gracie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Gracie throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Anderson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gracie manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Anderson has Gracie in his guard. Gracie wants to stand but Anderson is controlling his posture from full guard. Gracie trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Gracie trying to control but Anderson is working from the bottom. Anderson working for a triangle but Gracie defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Gracie slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Anderson tries to improve position but can't. Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Anderson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Gracie stands up and beckons Anderson to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gracie gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Anderson to score an easy takedown into full guard. Anderson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Gracie looking for a sweep. Not yet Gracie, not yet. Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Anderson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Anderson trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Anderson stopping the sweep attempt from Gracie. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Anderson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gracie is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Anderson, into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie advances position into side control! Junior Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Gracie advances to full mount. Gracie controlling the pace for now. Gracie is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Anderson is surviving well by controlling Gracie's body position as best he can. Gracie is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Anderson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Anderson! Gracie tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gracie is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Anderson has managed to free his arm - good work. Anderson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gracie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gracie's back! Anderson cracks Gracie with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Gracie from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
You can see the frustration on Gracie's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Gracie connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Anderson momentarily.

Anderson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Gracie clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Anderson struggling to land strikes to the head as Gracie covers up. Anderson is not going to allow Gracie to sit and survive in this position. Gracie turns into Anderson and is now in his guard.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Gracie stands and throws Anderson's legs to the side, diving into side control. Gracie has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Gracie connects with a jab. Junior Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gracie connects with a looping right hand.
Anderson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Gracie scores a takedown into full mount! Gracie has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Anderson is forced to tap!
