Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramzi Mahjoub (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hugh Jack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ramzi Mahjoub!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jack is looking to clinch.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mahjoub.
Jack misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Mahjoub has managed to clinch.
Jack can't break the clinch.

Mahjoub turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Mahjoub should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Mahjoub moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Mahjoub blocks the strikes from Jack.
Mahjoub misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Jack can't do much from the bottom here.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Mahjoub has eaten all the pies!

Mahjoub wants to control but Jack is keeping him busy.
Jack is trying to get back to half guard.
Mahjoub is looking to take a break and control but Jack is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mahjoub looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Jack is avoiding damage well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jack tries to clinch up.

Mahjoub closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jack wants to control but Mahjoub is keeping busy.
Mahjoub stops Jack from getting back to his feet.
Jack is breathing heavily.

Mahjoub decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Jack has his takedown stuffed

and Mahjoub counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jack!
Mahjoub has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jack's face.

Mahjoub lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jack hang on?
Mahjoub cracks Jack with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Mahjoub working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Let's hope that Mahjoub has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Mahjoub closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jack did well to prevent Mahjoub getting side control.
Mahjoub thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Mahjoub seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jack does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
It looks like Mahjoub is going to stand back up.

Mahjoub is keen to just control but Jack is a slippery customer.

Despite being in the dominant position, Ramzi Mahjoub just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mahjoub tries to clinch up but Jack circles away and keeps his distance.

and Mahjoub counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mahjoub.

Mahjoub trying to control the position from guard on top but Jack is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jack will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mahjoub stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jack swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mahjoub loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Jack trying to control the position.
Mahjoub throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jack works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Mahjoub throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jack was covering up waiting for the punch and Mahjoub finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Mahjoub wants to get up but he can't break Jack's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Mahjoub drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jack dives on top into guard.
Mahjoub wants to stand but Jack is controlling the position.
Mahjoub has control of Jack's left arm, preventing Jack from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ramzi Mahjoub showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Mahjoub fails to land the takedown.
Jack looks to land a combination but Mahjoub avoids it well.
Hugh Jack is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jack throws a hook but Mahjoub blocks it.
Mahjoub looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jack is fending him off so far but Mahjoub persists. Nope, Jack circles away and we're back to standing.

Mahjoub clinches up with Jack and pushes him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee calls for Mahjoub to work.
Mahjoub keeps control of Jack as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jack wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Mahjoub tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jack smiles and moves away.
Hugh Jack has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ramzi Mahjoub.

Jack tries to clinch but Mahjoub is having none of it.
Mahjoub tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mahjoub goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Jack tries for a takedown but Mahjoub circles away easily

and Mahjoub counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Jack is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jack is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mahjoub is controlling him.
Mahjoub is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Mahjoub tries to free his leg and advance position but Jack is retaining full guard.
Jack looking for a sweep. Not yet Jack, not yet.

Mahjoub stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jack swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mahjoub is looking to work some ground and pound but Jack has wrist control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jack shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mahjoub defends it nicely.
Jack shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mahjoub shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Mahjoub is just content to waste time from the top position. Jack takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Ramzi Mahjoub is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Mahjoub stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jack swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mahjoub must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mahjoub is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

I've got Mahjoub winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
