Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Rhodes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parker kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Young. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Rhodes!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Parker wants it to stay on the feet.
Rhodes fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Rhodes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Parker circles away.
Michael Parker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Rhodes.

Parker has closed the distance and engaged Rhodes in a clinch.

Parker tries to advance to mount but Rhodes denies him.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Parker's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Rhodes rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Rhodes tries to kick Parker off but Parker keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rhodes is trying hard to land a takedown here. Parker sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Parker has picked Rhodes up - he's going for a ride! Parker dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Parker is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rhodes defends it well.

Well, if Parker is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Parker seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rhodes for as long as he can get away with.
Rhodes is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Parker's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Parker's back!
Parker rolls, trying to escape but Rhodes keeps control of the position.
Parker turns into Rhodes and is now in his guard.

Parker wants to pass the guard but Rhodes is keeping the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Parker avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Parker shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rhodes's guard.

Parker landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Rhodes is not content to let Parker control the position.
Parker seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Rhodes is looking to improve his position.
Parker wants to take a breather but Rhodes is having none of it.

Rhodes tries to roll over but Parker keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Parker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rhodes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rhodes doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Parker counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Parker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Parker postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Parker stands and steps away. Rhodes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Parker.

Parker decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Rhodes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Parker swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rhodes gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Parker.
Parker tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Parker connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Rhodes misses with a hook to the body

and Parker counters by moving into the clinch.
Parker tries to pull guard but Rhodes won't allow it.

Rhodes throws a big right hand that misses.
Rhodes trying to control but Parker is working from the bottom.
Rhodes trying to stand up but can't free himself from Parker's guard.

Parker is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Rhodes rolls with it to try and escape but Parker cranks on the arm and Rhodes is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
