Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lazarus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Parrot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones's entrance music is Enter Sandman. A fine choice. Mike Parrot has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lazarus Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Parrot! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parrot takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Parrot looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Parrot is working to avoid the ground and pound but Jones connects with a decent elbow. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Jones scores with a couple of short elbows. Jones is looking to take a break and control but Parrot is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Parrot regains half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jones working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Parrot is not content to let Jones control the position. Parrot wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.
Jones lands with a punch from half guard. Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Parrot is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold. Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Parrot keeps working. Jones trying to mount his opponent but Parrot defends it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parrot tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control. Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Parrot keeps working. Parrot is pressing down on Jones's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Jones preventing the sweep. Parrot working for a triangle but Jones defends it easily.
Jones has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Parrot is proving hard to escape from. Jones scoring with punches to the head and body. Parrot is trying to keep Jones in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jones makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Jones with a flurry of punches that miss. Jones preventing the sweep. Parrot is trying to control the position but Jones postures up. Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Parrot is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jones is trying to stand back up but Parrot is controlling him
Jones wants to get back to full guard. Jones is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Parrot's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Parrot's back! Can Parrot hold on?! Jones is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Parrot tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Jones looking to control but Parrot is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Parrot keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jones is working for a guillotine from mount but Parrot frees his head quite easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lazarus Jones dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Parrot takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Jones lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Parrot doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Jones lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jones with a hook. Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jones passes Parrot's left leg - he's now in half guard. Jones maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Parrot could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Jones has cracked it and Parrot is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Jones!
