Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daren Devilin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nolan Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin has chosen War - The Sick Puppies as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daren Devilin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nolan Martin! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Devilin fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Martin. Martin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Check out the look on Martin's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Martin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Devilin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Martin tries to advance to mount but can't. Martin creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Devilin sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Devilin is trying to improve his position. Martin scoring with punches from side control. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Martin is looking to take a break and control but Devilin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Devilin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Martin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Martin fails to land a wild elbow strike.

That's one minute gone in the round. Martin thows a huge punch but Devilin dodges it nicely.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Devilin cracks the inside of Martin's front leg. A nice inside leg kick there by Devilin. That's going to slow Martin down. Martin lands with a cross. Martin looks to land a left hand but Devilin moved out of range nicely. A telegraphed right hand from Martin misses the target. Daren Devilin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Martin lands with an uppercut that bounces Devilin off the ropes and back into rage. Devilin takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Devilin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Martin.
Martin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Devilin was well out of range. Poor timing from Martin. Martin throws a body punch but Devilin moves out of range. Nolan Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Martin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Devilin paws at him with a jab and circles away. Martin looks to score with a jab to the body but Devilin is just out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Martin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Devilin moves away. No joy there for Devilin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Devilin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Devilin wants it to stay on the feet. Devilin throws out a leg kick but Martin moves out of range and Devilin only half commits. A jab from Martin misses. Martin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Devilin is trying to defend but Martin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Martin wants to work for an arm triangle but Devilin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Devilin wants to stand and escape but Martin is having none of it. Martin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Devilin works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Martin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Devilin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Martin. Devilin tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Martin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Devilin buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Daren Devilin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Martin misses the jab. Devilin moves out of range as Martin strikes. Devilin scoring well with a low kick there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Martin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Devilin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Martin somewhat. Devilin slips under a jab from Martin. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nolan Martin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Devilin slaps away a takedown attempt from Martin, before circling back to the center of the mat. Daren Devilin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nolan Martin. Devilin throws a low kick, looking for Martin's leg but Martin calmly moves out of range. Devilin checks a leg kick. Martin throws a series of punches but Devilin avoids them all with ease. Martin jabbing away but nothing is landing. Martin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Martin throws a hook to the side of Devilin's head but Devilin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Daren Devilin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Nolan Martin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Martin waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Devilin.
And that's the end of the fight! Nolan Martin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Martin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
