PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johan Aszkickery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Solomon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johan Aszkickery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyler Solomon!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Solomon clinches with his opponent.

Aszkickery pulls guard successfully.
Solomon won't allow Aszkickery to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aszkickery looking for a sweep. Not yet Aszkickery, not yet.
Aszkickery is looking to stand up but Solomon isn't so interested in that idea.

Solomon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Solomon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Solomon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Solomon is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Aszkickery tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Aszkickery is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Solomon is controlling him.

Solomon gets to his feet - Aszkickery follows without any prompting.

Aszkickery gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Solomon to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Solomon tries to free his leg and advance position but Aszkickery is retaining full guard.
Solomon wants to control from the top but Aszkickery keeps moving.
Aszkickery wants to sweep here but Solomon controlling him for the moment.

Aszkickery escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Solomon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Aszkickery could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Solomon cracks Aszkickery with a solid left hand.
Solomon trying to control the position from guard on top but Aszkickery is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Aszkickery trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Solomon wants to stand but Aszkickery is controlling his posture from full guard.
Aszkickery is trying to keep Solomon in close.
Aszkickery is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Solomon is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Solomon scoring with punches to the head and body.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Solomon cracks Aszkickery with a solid left hand.
Solomon connects with a couple of short punches.
Aszkickery is breathing heavily.
Solomon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Aszkickery pushes Solomon off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
A head kick misses from Solomon.
Aszkickery looks to clinch

and Solomon counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Solomon seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Solomon trying to pass the guard but Aszkickery defending well.
Solomon wants to stand but Aszkickery has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Solomon thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Aszkickery to regain full guard.
Solomon being controlled here momentarily.

Aszkickery wriggles free and stands up.

Aszkickery gets a takedown into half guard.
Aszkickery working the head and body with strikes.
Aszkickery is looking to stall here but Solomon recovers full guard.

Solomon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Aszkickery might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Aszkickery slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Solomon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Aszkickery is one step ahead there.

Solomon wants to reverse the position here. Aszkickery has hold of a leg though and he's dropped back looking for a kneebar! The fighters roll across the mat but Solomon is forced to tap! Solomon looks devastated but at least his leg points in the right direction.
