PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sid Vicious (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Eccles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vicious has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Eccles clinches with his opponent.

Eccles breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Eccles moves out of range of the body kick from Vicious.
Vicious misses with a leg kick.
Eccles shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vicious sprawls well. Vicious wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Eccles gets slowly back to his feet.
Eccles fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Vicious.
Eccles shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vicious pinned against the cage. Vicious gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Eccles throws a right hand that Vicious ducks under and follows up with a left that Vicious also avoids with ease.
Eccles throws a jab but it's blocked by Vicious.
Vicious takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Eccles gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Vicious wants to get back to striking at distance but Eccles won't allow it.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Eccles is on top in guard.

Eccles decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Vicious, up you get!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Eccles can do anything to dispel that myth.

Eccles misses with a takedown attempt - Vicious sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
No joy there for Vicious, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Vicious stands and steps away. Eccles gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Pete Eccles showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
