Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Guan Yu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Garfunkel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yu drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Yu controls from within his opponent's guard.
Garfunkel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Yu trying to control but Garfunkel is working from the bottom.
Yu has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Garfunkel pushes Yu off and scrambles back to his feet.

Garfunkel gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Yu to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Garfunkel can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Yu controls the pace.
Yu wants to control from the top but Garfunkel keeps moving.
Garfunkel lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Yu!

Yu tries to lock up and control but Garfunkel gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Yu tries to reverse the position but Garfunkel maintains control.
Garfunkel unloads with some shots from mount but Yu bucks and avoids them well.
Garfunkel thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Yu is trying desperately to improve position.
Garfunkel tries to control but Yu wriggling away.
Garfunkel should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Yu is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Garfunkel wants to control the pace but Yu is squirming around nicely.
Garfunkel lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Garfunkel trying to control but Yu is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Garfunkel sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Yu tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Yu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Garfunkel on the ground.
Garfunkel misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Garfunkel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Yu avoids a series of strikes thrown by Garfunkel.
Garfunkel landing strikes from the mount and Yu is in trouble!
