Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Joe.
Joe stands up and beckons Mahitato to his feet.
Joe circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mahiko Mahitato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mahitato throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Joe blocks it with crossed arms.

Joe is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mahitato doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Joe.
Mahitato is defending against the submission attempts here by Joe.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mahitato is pressing down on Joe's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Joe throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mahitato works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Joe wants to control from the top but Mahitato keeps moving.
Mahitato is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Joe is controlling him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Joe is refusing to be controlled, as Mahitato sits in half guard.

Joe throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mahitato escapes and throws Joe's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Joe is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Mahitato decides to stand up, so the ref orders Joe to his feet.
Mahitato throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Joe dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Joe counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Joe.

Joe jumps guard but Mahitato stands there with Joe around his waist. Joe gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Joe pulls Mahitato in to control the position.
Joe wants to control but Mahitato passes easily into half guard.
Joe tries to roll over but Mahitato keeps him under control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mahitato is keen to just control but Joe is a slippery customer.
Joe tries to get to full guard but Mahitato has control of the leg.
Mahitato wants to get back to his feet.
Mahitato is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Mahitato tries to pass the half guard into mount. Joe knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mahitato misses with a head kick.
Mahitato tries to clinch up but Joe circles away and keeps his distance.
Joe blocks a head kick by Mahitato.
Joe scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Joe has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mahitato defend it? Joe steps over the head and cranks it - Mahitato is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Joe!
