The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Weed is defended easily by Jacobs.
Some wild striking there from Jacobs.
Jacobs throws a series of punches but Weed avoids them all with ease.

That was a close round but I would say that Boobba Weed will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Weed shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jacobs pinned against the cage. Jacobs gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Weed counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jacobs won't be happy with that.
Weed swings around for an armbar but Jacobs sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Weed's guard.

Weed throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jacobs's waist but Jacobs gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Weed off to one side.

Weed postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jacobs is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Weed, into his guard.
Weed can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jacobs controls the pace.
Boobba Weed overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jacobs got a little sloppy there for a moment and Weed has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jacobs has managed to get both his arms back between Weed's legs - danger averted.

Weed goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Jacobs turns into him and now he's in Weed's guard.

Jacobs is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Let's hope that Jacobs has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Weed has his foot on Jacobs's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jacobs works his way back into a safe position though.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Boobba Weed.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Weed, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
