Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Mick Helm!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kong scores with a punch to the head.


It looks like Mick Helm has been cut.
Helm fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Kong looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Helm is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Helm keeps working.
Kong not doing much here.
Kong stalling away here and it's allowed Helm to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Kong wants to stand but Helm is controlling his posture from full guard.
Kong postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Kong might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kong tries to free his leg and advance position but Helm is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kong closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kong lands in his opponent's guard.

Helm is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kong trying to control the position from guard on top but Helm is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Helm is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kong is aware though and is defending well.

Helm keeps the fight on the outside.
Kong throws a half hearted mid kick.
Kong connects with a solid leg kick.
Helm with a lazy takedown attempt

and Kong decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Helm's guard.

Helm looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kong has picked Helm up and slammed him! Helm can't keep hold of the triangle and Kong manages to pass to side control!

Kong has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

and Kong counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kong wants to stand but Helm has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Kong tries to pass to full mount but Helm defends it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kong in particular looking to stall.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Helm trying to control here.
Helm is in trouble now - Kong has advanced to mount!
Helm is in all sorts of trouble here.
Kong lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Kong trying to control but Helm is having none of it.
Kong controlling the position easily from mount.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Helm keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kong lands a heavy elbow.
Helm is squirming around, avoiding Kong's attempts to control the action.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kong scores with a couple of good head shots there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Kong shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Helm manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Kong avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Alan Kong overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Helm keeping full guard, as Kong tries to pass.
Kong sitting in guard here, content to control.
Kong trying to control but Helm is working from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kong is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Helm keeping full guard, as Kong tries to pass.
Kong wants to control from the top but Helm keeps moving.

Helm had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kong is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Helm Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kong's back instead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kong trying to survive by controlling the hands.
Kong trying to control the hands but Helm won't let him.
Kong tries to roll but Helm sticks to his back.

Alan Kong showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Kong has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
