Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ross Groso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Groso comes to the cage accompanied by Here comes the Boom. James Wilson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ross Groso! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, James Wilson! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Groso thuds his right hand into Wilson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Wilson takes the fight into the clinch. Groso wants to get back to striking at distance but Wilson won't allow it.
Wilson gets through Groso's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
It looks like Ross Groso has been cut. Wilson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Groso is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Wilson tries to pull guard but Groso holds him up against the cage and eventually Wilson drops back down to his feet.
Groso is trying to break the clinch but Wilson is controlling him. Groso stops a takedown attempt from Wilson.
Ross Groso has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Wilson. Wilson keeps control of Groso as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Wilson manages to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Groso would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Wilson has his foot on Groso's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Groso works his way back into a safe position though. Wilson is pulling down on Groso's head. It's preventing any offense from Groso, at least for the moment. Groso gets to his feet. Wilson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Wilson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Wilson looks gassed! Groso swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Groso throws a right hand that Wilson ducks under and follows up with a left that Wilson also avoids with ease. Wilson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Wilson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Wilson shoots in but Groso avoids the takedown attempt easily. Wilson slips a straight right by Groso. Groso lands a jab. Groso throws a right hand that Wilson ducks under and follows up with a left that Wilson also avoids with ease. Groso smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Groso slaps away a takedown attempt from Wilson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Groso thows a left - swing and a miss! Groso misses with a wild combination.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Groso sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Groso fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Groso lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. A right-left combo lands from Groso. Groso missing with a left hand there. Wilson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Wilson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Groso. Groso takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Wilson shoots for a double leg takedown but Groso sprawls well. He's pushed Wilson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nice straight punches there by Groso. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Groso. Groso throws the left hand but Wilson avoids the punch easily. Groso jabs Wilson right on the nose. Wilson blinks but takes it well. Groso fails to land with a series of punches.
Groso tries to bum rush Wilson with a series of wild strikes but Wilson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Wilson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Wilson fails to pull the fight into his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Groso wants to stand but Wilson is controlling his posture from full guard. Wilson striking off his back but it's not causing Groso any problems. Groso wants to stand but Wilson is controlling his posture from full guard. Wilson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Groso's guard. Wilson controls from within his opponent's guard. Groso can't keep his opponent in guard - Wilson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Groso looks to land a right hand but Wilson moved out of range. Groso listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Wilson slips a jab from Groso. Wilson shoots in for a double leg but Groso sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A punch lands to the side of Wilson 's head but he takes it in his stride. Wilson walks into a left hand. Wilson closes the distance and clinches. Wilson fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Wilson is trying to trip Groso. He has hold of a leg but Groso is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Wilson persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Wilson trying to control but Groso is working from the bottom. Wilson is breathing heavily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Wilson. Wilson tries for a kimura but Groso is defending well. Wilson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Groso, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Groso is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Wilson is controlling him well. Wilson is trying to get an arm triangle but Groso is defending well. Groso wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Groso is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Wilson decides to take the fight back to the feet. Groso misses with a double jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilson has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Groso! Groso wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Groso is squirming around, avoiding Wilson's attempts to control the action. Groso tries to buck Wilson off but he can't manage it. Wilson has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Groso is forced to tap!
