Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Davo Eduardo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dave Giles! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Giles misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Giles displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Eduardo. Eduardo tries to clinch up. Eduardo fails to land the takedown. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Giles misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Giles walks away with a smile on his face. Eduardo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Giles moves into the clinch. Giles's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Giles lunges at Eduardo with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Eduardo's hand. Giles swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Eduardo walks forward, straight into a front kick from Giles.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Giles lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Giles throws a sloppy head kick and Eduardo moves out of range easily. Giles lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Eduardo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Eduardo is looking for a kimura here.

Eduardo takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Giles scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Giles misses with a head kick.
Eduardo tries to clinch but Giles moves away and Giles counters with a three punch combo that has Eduardo backing up. Eduardo nods at Giles to acknowledge the strikes. Giles throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Eduardo's head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Giles connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Eduardo's hands. Giles fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Eduardo, pushing him back against the ropes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Giles wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Eduardo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Eduardo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Giles's guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Eduardo advances position into side control! Eduardo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Giles is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Eduardo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Giles wants to control but Eduardo postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Giles tries to clinch but Eduardo is having none of it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Giles defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Eduardo. Davo Eduardo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Davo Eduardo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Giles swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
