The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goodis tries to clinch but Oleander is having none of it. Oleander looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Oleander is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Goodis defends it well. Oleander stalling. Oleander is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Oleander seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Goodis does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Oleander passes to side control. Oleander working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Goodis struggling a bit here.

Oleander looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Goodis is trying to buck Oleander off. Oleander thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. You can see the frustration on Goodis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oleander tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Oleander has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Oleander looks gassed! Oleander tries for a kimura but Goodis is defending well. Goodis wants to control but Oleander postures up. Oleander has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Goodis is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Oleander yanks on the arm and Goodis is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Oleander.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Dwight Oleander!
