Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steve Aqua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Steve Aqua has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Aqua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Johnson! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Aqua is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Aqua is looking to clinch. Aqua fails in his attempt to clinch. Aqua tries to clinch but Johnson moves out of range. Johnson swats away the attempt to clinch by Aqua. Aqua is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Johnson thows a body shot but no joy. Johnson lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Aqua is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Johnson looks to score with a jab to the body but Aqua is just out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Aqua looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Steve Aqua is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The fight stays on the outside here - Aqua looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Johnson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. A combination from Johnson does no damage. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Aqua!
Aqua tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Johnson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Aqua manages to avoid it. Johnson throws a combination. Aqua tries to block but a couple of punches get through. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Johnson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Johnson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Aqua steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Johnson. That one must have hurt. Aqua tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Johnson moves into range and clinches up with Aqua. Johnson avoiding damage as Aqua throws knees to the body.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Johnson receives a warning from the referee for stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson landing knees to the body.
Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A shot to de liver by Johnson. Beautiful body shot. A leg kick checked by Johnson. Aqua is breathing heavily. Johnson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Aqua did well to prevent Johnson getting side control. Johnson is taking a breather. Aqua says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Johnson trying to control from half guard but Aqua is working away. Johnson is nestled in close to Aqua, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Aqua is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Johnson is stalling here. Aqua is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Johnson seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Aqua has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Aqua's best efforts. Aqua wants to take a breather but Johnson is having none of it. Aqua is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Aqua trying to control the action but Johnson is working from the bottom. Johnson is controlling Aqua's trapped leg to prevent Aqua from advancing to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Johnson is refusing to be controlled, as Aqua sits in half guard. Aqua misses with a head shot. Johnson uses the momentum to regain guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Aqua from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Johnson dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Aqua wants to clinch and Johnson counters with a nice uppercut. Johnson misses with a double jab.
Johnson stalks Aqua and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Aqua's face. Aqua staggers backwards, shaken. Aqua clinches but Johnson breaks the clinch and Johnson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Johnson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Aqua tries to clinch up and Johnson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Nice shot by Johnson. Aqua has managed to clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Johnson as Aqua tries to tie him up. Aqua misses with a knee to the head. Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Aqua wants to clinch and Johnson counters with a nice kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aqua tries to clinch up and Johnson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Aqua tries to clinch but Johnson moves away and Johnson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Aqua darts in trying to clinch and Johnson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Aqua tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Johnson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Johnson. Johnson wants to pass the guard but Aqua is keeping the position. Johnson is looking to work some ground and pound but Aqua has wrist control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson stands up over Aqua, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Johnson wants to control from the top but Aqua keeps moving. Johnson passes Aqua's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Aqua is looking to control Johnson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Aqua avoid being mounted? Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Aqua is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold. Johnson stalling away here and it's allowed Aqua to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aqua is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Johnson defends well. Johnson being controlled here momentarily. Johnson controlling from the top position. Johnson drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Johnson as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Aqua screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Johnson! Nice submission victory there!
