Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mick Mars (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). William Wallace told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mick Mars! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, William Wallace! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mars closes the distance and clinches up with Wallace, looking for a takedown. Mars pushes Wallace against the cage but Wallace circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Mars takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Mars avoids the head kick by Wallace.
Mars avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Wallace walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Mars checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Wallace throws a nice inside leg kick. William Wallace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mars tries to clinch but Wallace is having none of it. Mars doesn't manage to clinch there - Wallace circles away.
Wallace tries to bum rush Mars with a series of wild strikes but Mars uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Wallace lands a high kick!
Wallace throws a series of punches but Mars avoids them all with ease. Wallace plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Mars is looking to clinch but Wallace is avoiding it.
Wallace keeps the fight on the outside. Nice uppercut lands for Wallace. That snapped Mars's head back.
Wallace fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Mars is out of range. Wallace throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Wallace darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Mars moves in looking to clinch but Wallace pushes him off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mars avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mars shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wallace's guard. Mars trying to control but Wallace is working from the bottom. Wallace being controlled here, momentarily. Mars won't allow Wallace to sweep him here. Wallace looks gassed! Wallace preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mars throws a big right hand that misses. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mars accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mars trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wallace can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wallace attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallace tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Wallace circles away from the clinch attempt.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mars looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mars throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wallace counters with a nice uppercut. Mars wants to clinch. Mars tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Wallace counters with a nice leg kick. Wallace stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wallace wants it to stay on the feet. Mars wants to clinch and Wallace counters with a lovely straight right hand! William Wallace is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wallace is looking to land body kicks. Mars throws a hook but Wallace avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A combination from Wallace does no damage. Mars looks to clinch and Wallace counters with a big head kick but Mars shrugs it off. Mars tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wallace swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mick Mars. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wallace throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mars on the side of the head. Wallace throws a combination. Mars tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Wallace circles away from the clinch attempt and Wallace counters with a straight right hand. Mars is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mars throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mars takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Wallace throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
so Mars counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Mars stopping the sweep attempt from Wallace. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mars accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mars wants to control from the top but Wallace keeps moving. Mars stops Wallace from standing up. Mars trying to control the position from guard on top but Wallace is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mars throws a big right hand that misses. Mars thows a big elbow that misses. Wallace keeping moving, preventing Mars from controlling successfully.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Wallace connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Wallace misses with a low kick. Wallace throws a leg kick that is checked and Mars counters by clinching up. Mars escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but William Wallace will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Mars bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Wallace's head. Mars tries to clinch and Wallace counters with a nice uppercut. Mars fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mick Mars is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wallace throws a head kick that misses. Wallace looks to land a combination but Mars avoids it well. Mars tries to clinch up and Wallace counters with a lovely straight right hand! A head kick misses from Wallace. Wallace will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mars closes the distance looking to clinch and Wallace counters with a stiff right hand. Mars has taken the fight to the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mars putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Wallace in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Mars shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mars was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Wallace can't escape the position.

Wallace holds on for dear life. Mars thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Mars is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Wallace can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Wallace is desperately trying to improve his position but Mars has a good base and remains in mount. Wallace avoids a series of strikes thrown by Mars.
Mars has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wallace is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Wallace blocking the ground and pound. Mars working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Mars trying to control but Wallace is having none of it. Mars with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Wallace really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mars. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wallace wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Mars.
Mars misses with a head shot. Wallace is looking to improve his position but Mars isn't that keen on the idea. Wallace is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mars trying to control but he's not successful this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mars with shots to the head and body - Wallace looks very uncomfortable down there. Mars wants to finish this one by submission but Wallace is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Mars. Wallace is desperately trying to improve his position but Mars has a good base and remains in mount. Mars sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Mars prevents Wallace from getting the reversal. Wallace wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Mars.
Wallace tries to reverse the position but Mars maintains control. Mars swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
