The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paterson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Paterson stuffs the takedown.
van Seggelen gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Paterson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Paterson wants to control from the top but van Seggelen keeps moving.
van Seggelen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
van Seggelen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Paterson is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and van Seggelen has latched onto it... Big trouble! van Seggelen pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Paterson is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from van Seggelen!
