PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kimbo Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Babak Dundee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dundee has chosen Young- Hollywood Undead as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Kimbo Slice has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kimbo Slice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Babak Dundee!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slice dodges the punch combination from Dundee.

Dundee closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Slice is trying to get back to full guard.
Dundee trying to control the pace.

Slice looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dundee keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Let's hope that Dundee has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Dundee is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Slice is trying to maintain the position but Dundee is very close to passing his half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Still in half guard, Dundee seems content to control.

Despite being in the dominant position, Babak Dundee just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Slice misses with a double jab.
Slice wants to clinch up but Dundee keeps it at a distance.
Dundee takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Dundee throws a sloppy head kick and Slice moves out of range easily.

Dundee drives through and clinches with Slice against the cage.
Slice is looking to break free of the clinch but Dundee has double underhooks.

Dundee tightens his grip and picks Slice up, before dumping him to the ground. Slice manages to land in guard.
Dundee seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Slice will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
I looks like Dundee might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Babak Dundee dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Slice tries to keep at a distance but Dundee has taken the fight into the clinch.
Dundee changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Slice fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Dundee moves in looking to clinch but Slice pushes him off.
Slice doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Dundee holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Dundee can't get the takedown.
Slice drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A head punch on the inside from Slice fails to land.
Slice blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Dundee has hold of one of Slice's legs. Slice is fighting the takedown attempt but Dundee gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Dundee is stalling in the full guard.

Slice looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dundee not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Dundee's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Despite being in the dominant position, Babak Dundee just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dundee closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Dundee turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Dundee manages to end up in side control.
Slice seems a little lost for a moment, as Dundee dominates the positioning.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Dundee swings around for an armbar but Slice sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dundee's guard.
Slice is looking to stand up but Dundee won't let him.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dundee is on top in guard.
Slice can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dundee controls the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Babak Dundee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Slice wants to clinch but Dundee slips to the side

and Dundee counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dundee.

Slice looking for subs off his back but Dundee has passed one foot through into half guard.
Slice wants to get back to full guard.
Dundee trying to control the pace.
Dundee throwing shots but Slice is blocking nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dundee is taking a breather. Slice says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Ground and pound from Dundee.
Dundee stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Slice lands a jab to Dundee's midsection.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Slice tries for a takedown but Dundee circles away easily

and Dundee counters with a takedown into side control.
Babak Dundee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
A lull in the action here as Dundee stalls from top position.
Kimbo Slice has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dundee connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Slice some visible discomfort.
Dundee avoids the strikes from the bottom by Slice.

And that's the end of the fight!
Babak Dundee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Dundee winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
