Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vichnou Shiva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Swarner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vichnou Shiva had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Vichnou Shiva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Bob Swarner!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Swarner has Shiva up against the cage in a clinch.

Swarner has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Shiva regains guard immediately.
Shiva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Swarner wants to get back to full guard.

Swarner looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Shiva is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Swarner wants to improve his position but Shiva is controlling well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Swarner tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shiva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Shiva tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Shiva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shiva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Swarner can do anything to dispel that myth.
Swarner manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Shiva passes the guard and advances to mount!
Shiva tries to control but Swarner wriggling away.

You can see the frustration on Swarner's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Shiva gets his hands free as Swarner looks to control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Shiva looking to break Swarner's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Swarner remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Shiva will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Swarner tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Shiva wants to take his opponent's back but Swarner doesn't allow it.

Swarner is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Shiva still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Shiva has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Shiva goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Swarner has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Shiva but great work by Swarner.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Well, if Shiva is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Swarner doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Shiva counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Swarner!

Shiva is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Swarner is surviving well by controlling Shiva's body position as best he can.
Shiva wants to control the pace but Swarner is squirming around nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Shiva moves into full guard.

Shiva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Swarner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Swarner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shiva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Swarner has managed to get both his arms back between Shiva's legs - danger averted.
Swarner wants to pass the guard but Shiva is keeping the position.
Swarner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Swarner is in close to Shiva's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Swarner advances to half guard.
Shiva wants to get back to full guard.
Bob Swarner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Vichnou Shiva is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Vichnou Shiva showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shiva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
