Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie Furstenfeld! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edward Charles Brock! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brock throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Furstenfeld's waist but Furstenfeld gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brock off to one side. Nice sprawl there from Furstenfeld as Brock shoots in. Furstenfeld misses with a body shot.
Furstenfeld changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brock looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Brock tries to bench press Furstenfeld off him but Furstenfeld keeps the position. Furstenfeld lands a decent elbow from side control. Furstenfeld is looking to take a break and control but Brock is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Brock sneaks back into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Furstenfeld is keen to just control but Brock is a slippery customer. Brock wants to get back to full guard. Brock trying to hold on to Furstenfeld's head to control him but Furstenfeld postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Furstenfeld frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Furstenfeld can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Brock is looking to escape. Furstenfeld moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Brock has worked his arm free - good work by Brock!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Brock wants to control but Furstenfeld postures up. Furstenfeld tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Furstenfeld lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Brock down.

Furstenfeld is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Brock is surviving well by controlling Furstenfeld's body position as best he can. Brock keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Furstenfeld pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Brock is looking to get to half guard. Brock bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Furstenfeld wants to sweep but no luck. Brock must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Furstenfeld working a defensive guard but Brock manages to pass into side control anyway.
Brock cracks Furstenfeld with a big elbow. Furstenfeld manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Brock is looking for a sweep. Furstenfeld is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Furstenfeld is pressing down on Brock's thigh, looking to free his foot. Brock is holding on for now. Furstenfeld seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Brock actively working from the bottom here. Furstenfeld has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Furstenfeld seems to be working for a kimura but Brock defends the submission attempt. Furstenfeld wants to control but Brock is keeping him busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brock gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily so Furstenfeld counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Furstenfeld stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brock swivels though and keeps the full guard. Furstenfeld drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Furstenfeld jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Brock looking for a guillotine here but Furstenfeld defends easily.
Brock had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Furstenfeld defends it easily. Brock is looking for a triangle but Furstenfeld pushes his legs off easily.
Brock is breathing heavily. Furstenfeld content to stall in guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Furstenfeld passes easily into side control. Nice work. Furstenfeld trying to control the action but Brock is working from the bottom. Furstenfeld working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Brock is trying to work for a sweep but Furstenfeld has mounted him! Brock is looking to improve his position but Furstenfeld isn't that keen on the idea. Brock tries to hold on but Furstenfeld pushes him away. Furstenfeld looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Brock throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Furstenfeld prevents Brock from getting the reversal. Furstenfeld working the ground and pound effectively.

Furstenfeld moves to the back position. Furstenfeld looking for the choke but no joy. Brock tries to escape but Furstenfeld has the hooks in and won't let him break free. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brock is trying to defend against the choke here but Furstenfeld has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Furstenfeld Tightens the hold and Brock taps out furiously! Furstenfeld displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
