Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alhassan Kwadwo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Petruzalek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Justin Petruzalek will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petruzalek is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Some wild striking there from Kwadwo.
Kwadwo lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Kwadwo gets the takedown into side control.
Petruzalek sneaks back into half guard.
Petruzalek wants to improve his position but Kwadwo is controlling well.
Kwadwo is trying to control the action in half guard but Petruzalek is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Petruzalek is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kwadwo pulls his head out easily.

Kwadwo is working for a kimura but Petruzalek is defending it quite comfortably.
Kwadwo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Petruzalek on the ground.

Kwadwo throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Kwadwo has his foot on Petruzalek's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Petruzalek works his way back into a safe position though.

Petruzalek manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kwadwo manages to get himself to full guard.

Petruzalek drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kwadwo manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Petruzalek has Kwadwo in his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Petruzalek working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kwadwo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kwadwo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Petruzalek looks gassed!

Petruzalek escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kwadwo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kwadwo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kwadwo is in close to Petruzalek's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kwadwo postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Kwadwo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Kwadwo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Petruzalek is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Petruzalek has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kwadwo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kwadwo wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Kwadwo lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kwadwo.

Kwadwo wants to control the pace but Petruzalek is squirming around nicely.

Alhassan Kwadwo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee warns Petruzalek that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
