PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Kael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kael comes into the arena with Nagasaki - Ken Doh blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fedor Emelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kael is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Emelianenko.
Emelianenko wants to slow Kael down by chopping away at his legs.
Kael tried to score with a low kick but Emelianenko checks it.
Emelianenko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kael.
Emelianenko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kael.
Emelianenko gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Kael is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kael is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

and Emelianenko counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Emelianenko.
Emelianenko goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kael prevents it.
Emelianenko tries to stall but Kael uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Kael is trying to trip Emelianenko. He has hold of a leg but Emelianenko is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Kael persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kael stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Emelianenko swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kael wants to get up but he can't break Emelianenko's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tyson Kael showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Kael has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
