Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sampsa Pikari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harris's entrance music is The Clash - Rock the Casbah. A fine choice. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jerome Harris! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sampsa Pikari! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harris throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Harris closes the distance and clinches up with Pikari, looking for a takedown. Harris pushes Pikari against the cage but Pikari circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Harris darts in and clinches Pikari up against the cage. Pikari misses with the head strike.
Harris swings wildly with an uppercut but Pikari uses good head movement to avoid it. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Harris. Harris is working Pikari over against the cage. Harris is stalling here.
Pikari stalls. Pikari breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Pikari. Harris manages to work his way to half guard, despite Pikari's best efforts. Harris makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Harris. Harris wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Harris is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pikari working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Harris. Harris has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Harris scoring with punches to the head and body. Harris will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Pikari is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Harris defends well. Pikari looking for a guillotine here but Harris defends easily.

Pikari landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Pikari not landing any meaningful shots this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pikari is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Pikari has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Pikari shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pikari was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

This isn't 1993 though, so Harris shrugs it off. Pikari looks gassed! Harris is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Harris stuns Pikari with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Harris misses with an uppercut. Pikari saw that one coming. Harris misses the body punch and Pikari counters with a right hand to the body. Harris gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pikari to score an easy takedown into full guard. Harris looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight. Pikari punishing his opponent with strikes. Pikari with a couple of short strikes. Pikari landing punches. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Pikari regains half guard. Ground and pound from Harris. Pikari is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Harris's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Harris's back! Harris covers up after that shot from Pikari.
Harris tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Harris is wriggling around trying to escape.
Pikari has hold of Harris's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Harris manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Harris uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pikari. Harris lands with a nice combination. Pikari backs away looking to recover. Pikari ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Harris is looking to clinch. Pikari throws out a loose jab but Harris uses good head movement to avoid it. Pikari moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Pikari slips a jab from Harris. Pikari jabbing away but nothing is landing. Harris swings for the body but Pikari moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pikari is defended easily by Harris. Harris fails with the takedown and Pikari counters with a nice double leg into guard. Harris lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pikari! It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Pikari is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Harris thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Pikari is looking to improve his position but Harris isn't that keen on the idea. Harris unloading with bombs! Harris jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pikari manages to avoid the submission attempt. An elbow from Harris crashes against the mat.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Harris throws a right hand that Pikari ducks under and follows up with a left that Pikari also avoids with ease. Pikari closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Pikari landing a few strikes. Pikari working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Harris tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pikari wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Pikari is putting a hurting on Harris here, landing some big shots from side control. Harris is trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pikari lands a few punches from side control. Harris struggling a bit here. Pikari working the body and head with strikes. Pikari working the ground and pound. Pikari creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Pikari tries to move to mount but Harris blocks the move with his legs. Harris takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Harris is looking to reverse the position. Pikari is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Harris knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Pikari sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Harris is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Sampsa Pikari dominated that fourth round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Jab from Harris. Harris is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pikari. Pikari thows a left - swing and a miss! Pikari closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pikari lands in his opponent's guard. Pikari cracks Harris with a solid left hand. Pikari preventing the sweep. Pikari stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Harris swivels though and keeps the full guard. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Harris tries to land a sweep but no joy. Pikari loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Pikari postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

No, Pikari has managed to get both his arms back between Harris's legs - danger averted. Harris can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pikari controls the pace.
And that's the end of the fight! Sampsa Pikari comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Pikari winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
