Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roycio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roycio Gracie looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rua scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Rua looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Gracie gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rua pulls his head out easily.
Rua is taking a breather. Gracie says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Rua is nestled in close to Gracie, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Gracie flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rua pulls his head out easily.

Gracie is pressing down on Rua's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Rua trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rua thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Rua wants to stand but Gracie has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Rua throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rua gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rua drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gracie manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rua has Gracie in his guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gracie is looking to advance position but Rua has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Gracie is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Rua has hold of Gracie's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Gracie manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Gracie wants to control but Rua is having none of it.
Gracie is wriggling around trying to escape.
Rua working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Rua with shots to the head and body - Gracie looks very uncomfortable down there.

Gracie throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rua lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Gracie tries to lock up and control but Rua gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Rua avoids the attempt from Gracie to control.
Gracie is in a horrible position here. Rua smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Rua goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Gracie turns into him and now he's in Rua's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rua pulls Gracie in close to his closed guard and prevents Gracie from doing any damage or advancing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Roycio Gracie will probably get the nod.

Gracie doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Rua decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gracie's guard.
Rua throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gracie works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rua postures up.

Gracie has his feet on Rua's thighs here. He's pushed Rua off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Rua screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
