The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ladley throws a nice looking combination but Halonen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ladley tries to close the distance and clinch but Halonen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ladley.
Halonen shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ladley is trying to defend but Halonen finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Despite being in the dominant position, Tarja Halonen just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Halonen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ladley was covering up waiting for the punch and Halonen finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Well Halonen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
