Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kolt Kannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kolt Kannon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie Day! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kannon does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Kolt Kannon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kannon throws a sloppy head kick and Day moves out of range easily. A chopping leg kick lands by Kannon. Day looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Kannon falls off balance throwing a combination
and Day counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Kannon manages to get to full guard.
Day trying to control the position from guard on top but Kannon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kannon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Day doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Day manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Day controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Kannon has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Day is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kannon. Day lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kannon down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kannon manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Day trying to hold on to Kannon's head to control him but Kannon postures up.
Day makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Kannon pivots, looking for a leg kick but Day is out of range and Kannon settles back down. Kannon looks to throw the jab but Day is out of range. Kannon misses the shot to the body. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Day crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kannon - the referee stops the clock and Day gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kannon. Day manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Kannon throws a leg kick which misses Day's front leg but catches the back leg as Day tries to avoid it. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Day. Kannon shrugs it off though. Kannon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Day sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Kannon is breathing heavily. Kannon throws a leg kick that is checked and Day counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Day. Day drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kannon pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kannon lands a nice shot to the body.

Kannon is trying to break the clinch but Day is controlling him. Day blocks an elbow strike. Kannon is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Kannon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Kannon is looking to break free of the clinch but Day has double underhooks. Day turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Day manages to end up in side control. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kannon is trying to control Day's posture but Day avoids it. Kannon is looking to regain half guard here but Day keeps moving and retains side control. Kannon wants to get back to his feet but Day drags him back down. Kannon being controlled for a moment.

Day decides to take the fight back to the feet. A slow jab from Kannon misses its intended target. Kannon misses with a body kick. Kannon throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Day looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kannon is fending him off so far but Day persists. Nope, Kannon circles away and we're back to standing. Kannon tries a head kick but it misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kannon throws a lazy head kick and Day counters by moving into the clinch. Day lands a damaging elbow. Kannon wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kannon is trying to break the clinch but Day has him pressed against the cage. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Day avoids the elbow strike from Kannon, against the cage.
Day drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kannon gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Kolt Kannon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charlie Day. Kannon stops a takedown attempt from Day.
Day drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Day tries to pull guard but Kannon holds him up against the cage and eventually Day drops back down to his feet.
Kannon tries to break the clinch but Day is controlling the position. Kannon tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kannon stops a takedown attempt from Day.
Day is trying to force a seperation but Kannon has the dominant position. Kannon manages to break the clinch.

and Day counters with a single leg into guard. Kannon didn't expect that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charlie Day dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A head kick by Kannon misses and Day counters with a big head kick but Kannon shrugs it off. Kolt Kannon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kannon throws a leg kick and Day moves into the clinch. Day keeps control of Kannon as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Day has clasped his hands together around Kannon's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. You can see the frustration on Kannon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Day stands up. Day forces Kannon back against the cage and clinches. Kannon blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Day is trying to drag Kannon to the mat but Kannon just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A battle for position here, against the cage. Kannon stops a takedown attempt from Day.

Day pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kannon tumbling to the mat - Day dives into Kannon's guard. Day wants to get up but he can't break Kannon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kannon is looking for a triangle but Day pushes his legs off easily.

Day advances to half guard. Day keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Day moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Kannon. Kannon is looking to reverse the position. You can see the frustration on Kannon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kannon sneaks back into half guard. Day seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kannon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Kannon is looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Day content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Kannon looking for submissions off his back. Day wants to take a breather but Kannon is having none of it. Kannon flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kannon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Day sees it coming and avoids it easily. Kannon misses with a looping right. Kannon throws a lazy head kick and Day counters with a thumping low kick. No luck for Day with that takedown attempt. Kolt Kannon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charlie Day. A head kick by Kannon misses and Day counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Day is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Kannon is looking to control Day's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kannon avoid being mounted? Kannon wants to get back to full guard but Day has mounted him! Day controlling the position easily from mount. Kannon tries to hold on but Day pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charlie Day showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Kannon looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Day has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kannon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. A battle for position here, against the cage. Day has Kannon pressed against the cage, preventing Kannon from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Day is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Day jumps guard and drags Kannon to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Kannon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Day is keeping the position for now. Kannon trying to control the position from guard on top but Day is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Day is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kannon has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Day is proving hard to escape from. Kannon trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kannon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kannon throws a hook to the side of Day's head but Day sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Day lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kannon backs up against the cage.
Day closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Day seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Kannon looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Day trying to control from half guard but Kannon is working away.

Day decides to stand up. Kannon looks to land a right hand but Day moved out of range. Day shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kannon manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Kannon is looking for a triangle but Day pushes his legs off easily.
Day stands up from guard. Let's bang! Day tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kannon is able to avoid easily.

Kannon swings and misses with a shot to the body and Day counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Day. Kannon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Day must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Day has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kannon is proving hard to escape from. Kannon is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Kannon did well to prevent Day getting side control. Kannon is trying to maintain the position but Day is very close to passing his half guard. Day is trying to control the action in half guard but Kannon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Charlie Day is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Day in particular looking to stall. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kannon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Day pulls his head out easily. Kolt Kannon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kannon is trying to maintain the position but Day is very close to passing his half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Charlie Day comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Day winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
