Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tugg Speedman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Allan Hawthorne!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speedman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hawthorne tries to clinch but Speedman moves out of range.
Speedman throws a right and a left that Hawthorne avoids nicely.
Hawthorne moves out of range of the strikes.
Speedman throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Allan Hawthorne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hawthorne looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Hawthorne prevents Speedman from improving his position.
Speedman is staying active underneath Hawthorne, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Speedman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hawthorne trying to mount his opponent but Speedman defends it.
Speedman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hawthorne is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Speedman is trying to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hawthorne tries to pass the half guard into mount. Speedman knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hawthorne misses with a looping left.
Hawthorne shoots in and drives through. Speedman sprawls well.
Speedman looks to land a left hand but Hawthorne moved out of range nicely.
Hawthorne tries to clinch but Speedman moves out of range.
Speedman keeps the fight on the outside.
Speedman keeps the fight on the outside.
Speedman avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hawthorne fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hawthorne tries to close the distance and clinch but Speedman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hawthorne doesn't manage to clinch there - Speedman circles away.
Speedman dives in and grabs Hawthorne's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hawthorne pushes down on Speedman's head and hops out.
Hawthorne throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Speedman throws a hook to the side of Hawthorne's head but Hawthorne sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Speedman thows a body shot but no joy.
Speedman works Hawthorne's body with a nice hook.
Hawthorne displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Speedman throws out the jab.
Speedman just misses with a punch to the body.
Hawthorne tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Speedman shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Speedman controlling his opponent.

Speedman has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Hawthorne is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tugg Speedman!
