Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Cragen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cragen has chosen Captain Cragen as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cragen shoots in looking for a takedown. Brown tries to sprawl out of it but Cragen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brown manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Cragen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cragen lands in his opponent's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cragen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Brown is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cragen defends well.
Cragen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Brown not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cragen has his foot on Brown's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brown works his way back into a safe position though.
Brown is working Cragen over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Cragen throws his legs up looking for a submission but Brown uses it to pass to side control.

Brown connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Cragen some visible discomfort.
Cragen is looking to regain half guard here but Brown keeps moving and retains side control.
Brown lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Cragen takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Brown thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Cragen gets back to half guard.
Brown wants to control but Cragen is keeping him busy.
Brown winds up and cracks Cragen with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Cragen wants to improve his position but Brown is controlling well.

Cragen kicks off Brown and gets to his feet.

Brown feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Cragen is looking to sinch up a triangle. Brown throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Cragen's body to avoid the submission. Cragen has instead reached around Brown's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Cragen arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
