Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Old Bastard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matheus Vasco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Old Bastard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matheus Vasco!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastard throws a head kick but Vasco moves out of range.
Vasco looks to land a combination but Bastard avoids it well.
Bastard misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Bastard.
Vasco tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bastard paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bastard stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bastard wants it to stay on the feet.
Bastard throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Vasco's head.

Vasco tries to clinch but Bastard is having none of it.

Old Bastard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matheus Vasco.

Bastard is trying to maintain a safe position but Vasco gets an underhook and turns Bastard into the cage.

Bastard unloads with some shots from mount but Vasco bucks and avoids them well.

and Bastard counters with a head kick.
Bastard bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Vasco is pushing Bastard's head away, looking to escape. Bastard manages to hold on to the position though.

Vasco really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bastard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vasco accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Vasco shoots in for a double leg but Bastard sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Vasco has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Bastard to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Vasco is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Bastard pulls down on the head and he's put Vasco to sleep! This one is all over!
