The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Roberts tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Roberts to the ground. Roberts escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Smith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Roberts is fending him off so far but Smith persists. Nope, Roberts circles away and we're back to standing.
Smith shoots in but no luck this time.
Ramses Roberts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Justyn Smith.
Roberts scores with a three punch combo!

It looks like Justyn Smith has been cut.
Roberts rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smith moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Smith misses with a double jab
and Smith takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith just misses with a punch to the body.

Roberts looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Roberts gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Smith takes one to the side of the head.
Roberts ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Roberts dances in with a quick combination. Smith is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Roberts snaps Smith's head back. Smith stumbles backwards against the cage. Roberts steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Smith's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Smith just didn't come prepared.
