PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Krav Mcgraw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maik Pellicciai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcgraw comes to the cage accompanied by Limp Bizkit--Break Stuff. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Krav Mcgraw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Maik Pellicciai!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgraw shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pellicciai pinned against the cage. Pellicciai gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pellicciai rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mcgraw moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A combination from Pellicciai does no damage.
Pellicciai lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Horrible takedown by Mcgraw or perhaps it was just good defense by Pellicciai which made him look bad.
Pellicciai swinging wilding here.
Mcgraw dodges the punch combination from Pellicciai.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Mcgraw closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pellicciai circles away.

Pellicciai escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mcgraw gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Pellicciai is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Mcgraw is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mcgraw chips away with some ground and pound.
Mcgraw advances to half guard.

Mcgraw is working for a kimura but Pellicciai is defending it quite comfortably.

Pellicciai kicks off Mcgraw and gets to his feet.
Pellicciai throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nice shot lands for Mcgraw.
Mcgraw showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pellicciai.

Mcgraw has a takedown stuffed.

Mcgraw bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Mcgraw tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mcgraw has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Pellicciai is looking for a sweep.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Mcgraw closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pellicciai to the mat! Pellicciai manages to get full guard.

Pellicciai looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Pellicciai has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mcgraw can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mcgraw lands a couple of elbows.

Mcgraw got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pellicciai has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mcgraw has managed to get both his arms back between Pellicciai's legs - danger averted.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Mcgraw is looking to advance position but Pellicciai won't allow it.
Mcgraw not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mcgraw is trying to work for a kimura but Pellicciai is defending well.

Pellicciai tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mcgraw fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
No joy there for Pellicciai, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Mcgraw decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pellicciai avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mcgraw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Krav Mcgraw dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mcgraw working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pellicciai doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pellicciai manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mcgraw has his foot on Pellicciai's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pellicciai works his way back into a safe position though.

Pellicciai drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pellicciai jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Krav Mcgraw overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mcgraw is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pellicciai is aware though and is defending well.

Pellicciai must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mcgraw fails with the takedown.

Mcgraw throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pellicciai was covering up waiting for the punch and Mcgraw finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Pellicciai is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Pellicciai working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mcgraw doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Pellicciai is tightening it up a little... Mcgraw has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Mcgraw reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Mcgraw taps out! nice BJJ there by Pellicciai!
