Luger has chosen Real American as his entrance music. Your Mom has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Luger shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mom manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Luger trying to control but Mom is working from the bottom.
Luger trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Luger drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mom looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mom looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mom!
Luger is not content to let Mom control the position.
Luger struggling a bit here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Luger manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Luger moves into full guard.
Mom wants to stand but Luger is controlling his posture from full guard.
Mom has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Mom gets to his feet - Luger follows without any prompting.

Mom misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Luger takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mom keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Mom goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Luger shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Luger was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Luger is working for a guillotine from mount but Mom frees his head quite easily.
Mom keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Mom gets back to half guard.

Luger throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Mom is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Luger winds up and cracks Mom with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Mom is looking to stand up but Luger isn't so interested in that idea.

Mom utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mom throws a looping overhand right but Luger ducks down to avoid it.
Mom bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Luger takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
The crowd cheers as Mom lands an impressive looking overhand right. Luger doesn't seem phased though.
Mom looks to score with a jab to the body but Luger is just out of range.
Mom looks to land a combination but Luger avoids it well.

Mom throws a series of punches but Luger moves out of range.
Your Mom is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Luger slips under a jab.
Luger uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mom.
Mom scores with a jab to the jaw.
Mom throws a series of punches but Luger avoids them all with ease.
Mom throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Luger slips a jab and a cross from Mom.
Luger tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mom swivels and escapes.
Mom moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A lazy left from Mom finds it's target.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Luger closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Luger looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Luger walks into a left hand.

Luger feints and as Mom raises his hands in defense, Luger changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mom working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Luger.

Mom is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Luger is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Luger wants to control from the top but Mom keeps moving.

Luger is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Luger has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Luger is keen to just control but Mom is a slippery customer.
Mom is looking to control Luger's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mom avoid being mounted?

Luger is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mom has managed to free his arm - good work.
Luger is breathing heavily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Luger takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mom scores with a one two! Luger had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Mom darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Luger looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Luger thows a big elbow that misses.
Mom pulls Luger in close to prevent any damage.
Luger pushing down on Mom's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Lex Luger has got the better of the ground game so far.

Mom is trying to maintain the position but Luger is very close to passing his half guard.

Mom is not content to let Luger control the position.
Well, if Luger is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Mom throws out a loose jab but Luger uses good head movement to avoid it.

Mom throws a shot from downtown. Luger moves away and avoids it.
Luger takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Mom is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Luger changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mom looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Luger tries for a kimura but Mom is defending well.
Mom prevents Luger from moving into mount.

Luger wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mom, who protects the arm well.
Mom is trying to improve his position.
Luger trying to control the action but Mom is working from the bottom.

Lex Luger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Mom thows a left - swing and a miss!
Mom connects with a good right hand that stumbles Luger. Luger circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Mom uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Mom stuffs the takedown attempt from Luger. Luger gets slowly back to his feet.
Mom scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Mom moves forwards but Luger connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Luger takes a jab right on the kisser.

Mom lands a glancing blow to the side of Luger's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Luger takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Mom throws a hook to the side of Luger's head but Luger sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mom misses with a two punch combination.
Mom just misses with a punch to the body.
Mom lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Luger circles away quickly and effectively.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mom ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Luger moves away.

Luger looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Luger stalling.
Luger uses his free foot to push down on Mom's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mom.
Luger can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mom is looking to escape.

Luger has hold of Mom's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mom manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Luger is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mom has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Luger goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Mom turns into him and now he's in Luger's guard.
Luger wants to sweep but no luck.
Mom wants to get up but he can't break Luger's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Luger working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mom doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mom manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mom would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Mom will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Luger is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Luger wants to improve his position but instead Mom has moved into half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Luger is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Mom.
Mom lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Luger circles away quickly and effectively.
Mom cracks Luger with an open hand slap.

Luger looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Mom listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Mom lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mom thows a left - swing and a miss!
Luger shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Horrible takedown by Luger or perhaps it was just good defense by Mom which made him look bad.
Mom fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Luger moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Luger slips a straight right by Mom.
Mom lands a nice hook to Luger's body. Luger takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Mom swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Luger will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Mom tries to lock up and control but Luger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Luger is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Luger extends the arm and Mom is forced to tap!
