Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Alliss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Toney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alliss comes to the cage accompanied by Bring Me To Life. The crowd seem to be enjoying Toney's choice of entrance music: AC/DC - Thunderstruck . 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Toney! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Toney throws a nice looking combination but Alliss bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Alliss avoids a punch combination nicely.
Alliss shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Toney manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Alliss trying to control the position from guard on top but Toney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Toney wriggles free and stands up. Toney misses with the combination.
Alliss moves into range and clinches up with Toney. Toney gets underhooks to prevent Alliss's takedown attempt.
Toney is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Alliss prevents Toney from breaking the clinch. Alliss breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
