Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Steeler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Steeler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rick Ross! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ross wants to clinch. Steeler misses with a wild combination.
Ross fails with a takedown attempt. Steeler does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Horrible takedown by Ross or perhaps it was just good defense by Steeler which made him look bad. Ross shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Steeler pinned against the cage. Steeler gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mark Steeler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Ross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ross dives in and grabs Steeler's left leg, looking for a takedown. Steeler pushes down on Ross's head and hops out. Steeler could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Steeler looks for a takedown but Ross sprawls well. Steeler fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Ross scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steeler is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Ross trying to control the action but Steeler is working from the bottom. Ross is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Steeler knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Ross prevents Steeler from escaping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ross is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Steeler is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Steeler pushes Ross away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ross gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Ross tries to move to mount but Steeler blocks the move with his legs. Ross trying to control the position but Steeler is working away. Steeler knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ross on the ground. Ross wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Steeler, who protects the arm well. Steeler on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Steeler tries to get out of the position. Steeler is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ross is trying to get an arm triangle but Steeler is defending well. Steeler is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ross has just dragged him back down to the mat. Ross trying to control the position but Steeler is working away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ross tries for a kimura but Steeler is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rick Ross dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Ross checks the leg kick. Steeler throws a sloppy head kick and Ross moves out of range easily. Steeler pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Ross looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Steeler is fending him off so far but Ross persists. Nope, Steeler circles away and we're back to standing. Ross shoots for a takedown but Steeler saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Ross tries to score a power double leg takedown but Steeler sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ross somewhat. Ross is breathing heavily. Steeler scores with a jab. Ross acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ross walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Ross looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ross fails in his attempt to clinch. Ross shoots in but Steeler avoids the takedown attempt easily. Ross looks for a takedown but Steeler sprawls well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Steeler tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ross fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Steeler avoids it really well and circles away. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Steeler tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ross takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Steeler tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ross sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Steeler somewhat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steeler throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Steeler tries a head kick but it misses.

Ross fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Steeler avoids it really well and circles away. Mark Steeler is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ross tries to clinch up but Steeler circles away and keeps his distance. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steeler pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ross slips a jab from Steeler. Ross avoids the head kick by Steeler.
Ross feints and as Steeler raises his hands in defense, Ross changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Ross tries to free his leg and advance position but Steeler is retaining full guard. Ross wants to control from the top but Steeler keeps moving. Steeler wants to get back to his feet but Ross is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ross drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Ross seems to have locked his on tight now - Steeler screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Ross, as he picks up the win!
