Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joe Dirt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Dirt looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Dirt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Columbo Gatti and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dirt lands a left and a right that sends Lewis crashing to the canvas! Dirt dives into mount looking to finish!


It looks like Chris Lewis has been cut.
Dirt controlling his opponent.
Dirt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lewis on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lewis is in all sorts of trouble here.
Dirt controlling the position easily from mount.
Lewis tries to hold on but Dirt postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dirt content just to control the position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lewis is desperately trying to improve his position but Dirt has a good base and remains in mount.
Dirt controlling the pace for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lewis is looking to get to half guard.
Lewis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Dirt fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dirt controlling the position easily from mount.
Lewis tries to hold on but Dirt postures up.

Dirt stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Dirt connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lewis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dirt.
Dirt stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dirt wants it to stay on the feet.
Lewis looks gassed!
Dirt misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Dirt lands a head kick. Lewis smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Dirt connects with a looping right hand.
Joe Dirt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lewis is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Lewis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lewis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lewis misses with a head shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Dirt is looking to clinch but Lewis is avoiding it.
Dirt moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Lewis misses with a takedown attempt - Dirt sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lewis takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

and Dirt counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Dirt's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dirt thuds his shin into the meat of Lewis's side.
Dirt moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Dirt closes the distance and pushes Lewis back into the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dirt has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lewis uses from the top position.

Dirt has control of Lewis's left arm, preventing Lewis from doing any damage.
Lewis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dirt is proving hard to escape from.
Lewis wants to control from the top but Dirt keeps moving.
Lewis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lewis controlling from the top position.
Lewis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Lewis trying to control the position from guard on top but Dirt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dirt throws a head kick that half lands.
Dirt lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Lewis backs up against the cage.

Lewis shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dirt napping and manages to drive through into side control!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dirt is looking for a sweep.
Lewis tries to score with some ground and pound. Dirt controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Dirt wants to get back to his feet.
Lewis cracks Dirt with a big elbow.
Lewis advances nicely into full mount.
Dirt is desperately trying to improve his position but Lewis has a good base and remains in mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lewis stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Lewis shoots and misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Joe Dirt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Lewis.
Lewis takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Lewis fails in his attempt to clinch.

Dirt closes the distance and pushes Lewis back into the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Lewis just misses with a elbow thrown towards Dirt's brow.
Lewis tries to stall but Dirt uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Dirt breaks from the clinch.
Lewis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Dirt lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Dirt dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Chris Lewis's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Lewis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Dirt throws Lewis to one side and escapes!
Lewis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dirt avoids it really well and circles away.

Dirt fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lewis, pushing him back against the cage.

Dirt manages to break the clinch.
Dirt blocks a head kick by Lewis.
Lewis is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Dirt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Lewis shoots in for a takedown but Dirt shows good takedown defense.
A slapping body kick lands there for Dirt.
Lewis darts in trying to clinch
and Dirt counters with a nice leg kick.
Joe Dirt is winning the standup battle so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dirt fails with the takedown

so Lewis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Dirt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dirt striking off his back but it's not causing Lewis any problems.

Dirt controls Lewis momentarily but Lewis frees himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lewis has managed to clinch.
Lewis fails to pull guard.
Joe Dirt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Lewis.
Lewis tries to circle away but Dirt has him pinned against the cage.

Dirt's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lewis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lewis throws a combination that misses
and Dirt counters with a head kick.

Lewis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dirt's guard.
Lewis wants to control from the top but Dirt keeps moving.
Dirt wants to stand up but Lewis is controlling him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lewis looking to sit in guard and control but Dirt gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lewis has a closed guard, preventing Dirt from standing up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chris Lewis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Dirt has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
