PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brian Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and louis coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spencer is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brian Spencer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, louis coleman!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

coleman has managed to clinch.
Spencer is breathing heavily.
coleman lands a body shot in the clinch.
coleman blocks an uppercut.
Spencer misses with some punches.

coleman drags the fight down to the ground.
coleman looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
coleman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Spencer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

coleman pushes Spencer off and gets back to his feet.

coleman gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

coleman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than coleman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Spencer takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

coleman is working for a guillotine from mount but Spencer frees his head quite easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Spencer is looking to improve his position but coleman isn't that keen on the idea.

Spencer tries to free his leg and advance position but coleman is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and coleman counters with a body kick that stops Spencer in his tracks momentarily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
coleman throws a head kick but Spencer moves out of range.
coleman is looking to clinch.

coleman shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Spencer napping and manages to drive through into side control!
coleman trying to control the action but Spencer is working from the bottom.
Spencer is trying to improve his position.

Spencer sneaks back into half guard.

Spencer wants to control but coleman is keeping busy.

Spencer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. coleman is working away from the top position though.
Well, if coleman is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Spencer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Spencer is working hard here to advance position.
coleman wants to stand but Spencer has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

coleman shoots in and bounces Spencer off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Spencer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. coleman defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

louis coleman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

coleman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no coleman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Spencer manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
coleman is positioning himself well to prevent Spencer advancing to mount.
Spencer looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Spencer is trying to control. coleman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

louis coleman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well coleman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
