Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vincent Vega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yuri Barbari!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vega gets a clinch.
Vega has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Barbari is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Barbari wants to break free but Vega has control.
Barbari has had enough of the clinch but Vega keeps him there for the moment.
Vega tries for a takedown but Barbari manages to get underhooks.
Barbari pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Barbari displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vega.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vincent Vega. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vega shoots in for a double leg but Barbari sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Barbari connects with a solid leg kick.
Vega checks the leg kick nicely there.
Barbari feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Vega's calf.
A head kick misses from Barbari.
Barbari tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vega paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vega throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Barbari tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Vega shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Barbari but Barbari pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Barbari throws a leg kick which misses Vega's front leg but catches the back leg as Vega tries to avoid it.
Vega is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Barbari looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Barbari lands with a thumping leg kick.
A shot to de liver by Barbari. Beautiful body shot.
Barbari lands a jab.
Barbari connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Barbari lands a big head kick that sends Vega tumbling to the mat! Barbari takes a step backwards and waves Vega back to his feet - he wants the finish!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Barbari throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vega was covering up waiting for the punch and Barbari finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Vega is rocked!
Barbari stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Oh Vega is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Barbari seems to be stalking Vega here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Vega drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
