The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Persbrandt throws a series of punches but Moore avoids them all with ease. Persbrandt keeps the fight on the outside. Moore looks for the body kick but Persbrandt saw that one coming. Persbrandt keeps the fight on the outside. Persbrandt fails with the takedown. Persbrandt throws a series of punches but Moore moves out of range. Moore misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Persbrandt.
Persbrandt displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Moore. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Moore doesn't manage to clinch there - Persbrandt circles away.

Moore shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Moore was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
That's one minute gone in the round. Moore manages to capitalize on a mistake by Persbrandt to take his back! Persbrandt is trying to stand back up. Moore looking for the choke from the back. Moore is trying to stick to Persbrandt's back but Persbrandt is turning into Moore. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Moore's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Persbrandt. Persbrandt missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Persbrandt scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Moore is looking to stand up but Persbrandt isn't so interested in that idea. Moore throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Persbrandt wants to control from the top but Moore keeps moving. Persbrandt looking to pass the guard. Persbrandt is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Persbrandt postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Moore is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Persbrandt, into his guard. Moore controlling from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moore stands up from Persbrandt's guard - Moore perhaps looking for a knockout. Moore moves into the clinch successfully.
Persbrandt gets control of Moore's arms and successfully pulls guard. Persbrandt will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Persbrandt wants to stand up but Moore is controlling him. Persbrandt looks gassed! Moore stands up and waves to Persbrandt to follow him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moore closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Moore lands in his opponent's guard. Persbrandt can't keep his opponent in guard - Moore advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Persbrandt is trying to control but can't.

Moore gets a takedown into half guard. Persbrandt is defending against the submission attempts here by Moore.
Persbrandt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Moore. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Persbrandt is trying to stand.
Persbrandt is breathing heavily. Persbrandt avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Moore. Moore decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Persbrandt is looking to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Persbrandt fails with the takedown and Moore counters with a nice double leg into guard. Moore is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Moore decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Persbrandt, up you get! Moore shoots in for a takedown but Persbrandt shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Moore closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Moore controls the position from side control. Moore is working Persbrandt over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Moore misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Moore scores with punches from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Moore is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Moore misses with the ground and pound. Moore looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Persbrandt is avoiding damage well.
Moore takes a little break here. Persbrandt wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moore has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Moore has taken the fight to the clinch.
Persbrandt is looking to break free of the clinch but Moore has double underhooks. Moore manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Moore is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Moore striking off his back but it's not causing Persbrandt any problems. Moore is pulling down on Persbrandt's head. It's preventing any offense from Persbrandt, at least for the moment. Tommy Moore overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Persbrandt trying to control but Moore is working from the bottom. Persbrandt is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Moore is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Moore closes the distance and clinches up with Persbrandt, looking for a takedown. Moore pushes Persbrandt against the cage but Persbrandt circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Moore throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Persbrandt's waist but Persbrandt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Moore off to one side. Persbrandt displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Moore. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Moore. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Moore tries for a takedown but Persbrandt circles away easily so Persbrandt counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moore keeping moving, preventing Persbrandt from controlling successfully. Persbrandt trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Persbrandt lands a couple of elbows. Moore keeping moving, preventing Persbrandt from controlling successfully. Moore is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Moore wants to sweep here but Persbrandt controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Moore pushes Persbrandt off and gets back to his feet.
Moore misses with a takedown and Persbrandt counters with a one-two to the body. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Persbrandt. Persbrandt fails with the takedown and Moore counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Persbrandt is trying to control but can't.
Moore takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Persbrandt tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Moore has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Moore controlling the position easily from mount. Persbrandt is looking to get to half guard. Moore controlling from the full mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Moore has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Persbrandt can do anything to dispel that myth. Persbrandt is squirming around, avoiding Moore's attempts to control the action.
And that's the end of the fight! Tommy Moore showed his dominance in that final round. Well Moore has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
