Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Han (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francis Jaquier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Han lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Joe Han seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Han lands with a thumping leg kick.
Han misses with a body kick.
Han tries to clinch there but Jaquier circles away.
Han shoots in but no luck this time.
Jaquier throws a head kick that misses
and Han counters with a three punch combo that has Jaquier backing up. Jaquier nods at Han to acknowledge the strikes.
Han shoots in for a double leg but Jaquier sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jaquier takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Han throws a right hand that Jaquier ducks under and follows up with a left that Jaquier also avoids with ease.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jaquier wants to stand and escape but instead Han has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jaquier is on top in guard.
Jaquier wants to stand but Han is controlling his posture from full guard.
Han is looking to stand up but Jaquier isn't so interested in that idea.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jaquier stands up from Han's guard - Jaquier perhaps looking for a knockout.

Jaquier displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Han.

Jaquier throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Han stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Jaquier follows into mount!
Oh Han is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jaquier wants to control the pace but Han is squirming around nicely.
Han seems to have got his legs back now.

Han would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Han throws a strike but Jaquier rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jaquier has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Han is proving hard to escape from.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jaquier stands and steps away. Han gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Han could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jaquier steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Han. That one must have hurt.
Han shoots in for a takedown but Jaquier shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Han leaves Jaquier with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Jaquier stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jaquier wants it to stay on the feet.
Han moves in looking to clinch but Jaquier pushes him off.

No joy there for Han, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Han counters with a series of strikes. Jaquier will be more careful next time no doubt.

Jaquier tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Jaquier counters with a big head kick but Han shrugs it off.

It looks like Joe Han has been cut.

Han looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Han stalling away here and it's allowed Jaquier to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Francis Jaquier showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jaquier wants to stand but Han has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jaquier gets to his feet - Han follows without any prompting.
Jaquier tries for a takedown but Han sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Han misses with a body kick.
Jaquier circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jaquier throws a sloppy head kick
and Han counters with a big head kick but Jaquier shrugs it off.
Han fails in his attempt to clinch.

Jaquier looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jaquier stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Han.

Jaquier shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Jaquier tries to stand and escape but Han actually recovers to full guard.
Francis Jaquier has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jaquier wanted to stand there but Han had control of the position.
