Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Grant Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter Fable (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Fable's choice of entrance music: Dragonfly by Shaman's Harvest. Dexter Fable has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Grant Wood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dexter Fable!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fable takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Wood fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fable manages to avoid it.
Fable uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wood.
Wood throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fable.
Wood with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Wood walks into a jab.
No joy there for Wood, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fable moves out of range as Wood strikes.
Wood cracks a nice hook into Fable's ribs.
A slow jab from Fable misses its intended target.
Wood misses with a wild body shot.
Wood cracks Fable with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Wood throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wood's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Wood duly obliges.


It looks like Dexter Fable has been cut.
Wood scores with a crisp jab that stopped Fable in his tracks.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fable throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A slow jab from Wood misses its intended target.
Fable looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Fable walks into a jab.
Wood is looking to wear down Fable with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Wood lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Grant Wood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wood throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wood takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Wood looks to score with a jab to the body but Fable is just out of range.
Wood avoids the body shot from Fable.
Fable scores with a jab to the jaw.
Wood uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Fable.
Fable cracks Wood with a good jab.
Fable uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Wood has time to react.
Wood swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Fable counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Wood throws a shot from downtown. Fable moves away and avoids it.
Wood uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Fable.
Fable throws the left hand but Wood avoids the punch easily.
Fable takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Wood getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Wood throws out a loose jab but Fable uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wood swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Fable connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Wood swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Fable counters with a straight right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wood throws a looping overhand right but Fable ducks down to avoid it.
Wood takes a swing at Fable's ribcage but misses.
Fable might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Fable throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wood sees it coming and avoids it easily.

and Fable counters with a straight right hand.

and Fable cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


Wood is rocked!
Wood thows a body shot but no joy.
Wood fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wood throws a lazy right hand but Fable sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Wood takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Oh Wood is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fable cracks Wood with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Wood tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Fable pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Wood is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dexter Fable!
