Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rufus Pegasus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Ricardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mauricio Ricardo has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Rufus Pegasus's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rufus Pegasus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mauricio Ricardo!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Rufus Pegasus has been cut.
Ricardo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pegasus.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pegasus is defended easily by Ricardo.
Pegasus fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rufus Pegasus. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ricardo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Ricardo is stalling in the full guard.

Ricardo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Ricardo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Despite being in the dominant position, Mauricio Ricardo just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ricardo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Pegasus tries to close the distance and clinch but Ricardo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ricardo connects with a looping right hand.

Ricardo shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Ricardo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Pegasus pushes Ricardo off looking to stand but Ricardo dives back in and keeps control.

Ricardo stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Pegasus to get to his feet.

Ricardo scores with a jab. Pegasus acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ricardo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ricardo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Pegasus tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Ricardo counters with a lovely straight right hand!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mauricio Ricardo dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Rufus Pegasus's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ricardo dances in with a quick combination. Pegasus is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Ricardo snaps Pegasus's head back. Pegasus stumbles backwards against the ropes. Ricardo steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Pegasus's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Pegasus just didn't come prepared.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mauricio Ricardo!
